Arizona’s newest car parts store is headed to the company that started it all: Walmart.
The Phoenix-based Phoenix Car Parts Co. is moving its headquarters to the new facility, which will also have a Walmart parking lot.
The move comes a month after Walmart announced it was expanding its headquarters in Mesa and that it would open an additional 300 new jobs in the metro area over the next three years.
In the last year alone, Walmart has added nearly 1,000 jobs, with the company also adding more than 6,000 new employees in the Phoenix metro area alone.
In addition to expanding its Phoenix headquarters, Walmart is also expanding its presence in the Southland.
The company plans on expanding its U.S. headquarters in Tucson to include a new fulfillment center.
That facility will be built in a former Wal-Mart parking lot near the intersection of West University Avenue and East Broadway.
In the last three years, Walmart added more than 7,000 employees in Arizona alone.
Walmart says the expansion of the Phoenix facility will create over 1,500 new jobs over the course of the next decade.
