Albuquerque Police Department spokesman Lt.
Brian Stelter says investigators are looking into a car parts discovery in the neighborhood on Wednesday morning that was located in the backyard of a home.
Stelton said a detective had been working on the case, and the investigation will likely extend through the day.
The Albuquerque Police department says it is aware of the discovery and is working with the Albuquerque Fire Department and the city to make sure there is no further damage to property.
The city’s fire department is on the scene, but no one was injured.
Stelter said the car part was from the Honda Civic that was found in a backyard, and police have no additional information about its condition.
He said he did not know when the car parts were found or how they were obtained.
He would not say whether the part was stolen.
He said it appears that the car was located after police searched the area for a missing person’s report on Wednesday, and he was not aware of any other vehicle in the area.
The investigation is ongoing, Steltter said.
